Digital Restoration Step-by-Step

Step 1: Scanning

Scanning Procedure

  • Select a scan post according to the implant connection and platform, from the item numbers list.
  • Screw the scan post onto the abutment, with the narrow side of the scan post facing the buccal.
  • Scan according to the manufacturer instructions: Intra-oral scan at the clinic, or plaster model scan at the lab.
  • No need for spraying or pre-scanning treatment.
  • Tighten the screw at 20Ncm.

Things to Consider

  • When using EZ-Base, the flat side of the scan post should being the same orientation as the angled screw channel,
except for the V3 NP, where the flat side should point to the opposite direction of the angled screw channel.
  • Scan posts are delivered pre-assembled with the appropriate screw.
  • When working with inLab CAD software, use a Sirona scanning body onto MIS Ti-Base and continue scanning.

Step 2: Download CAD/CAM Libraries

  • MIS maintains updated libraries for Exocad, 3-Shape and Dental Wings.
  • MIS Exocad libraries are also compatible for Amann Girrbach users.
  • The libraries contain MIS temporary cylinders, Ti-Bases, EZ-base, Titanium blanks and digital model analogs.

Step 3: Definitive Crown Design and Fabrication

Download MIS CAD/CAM libraries at:

Find the correct abutment in the library and digitally fabricate the final crown / bridge.
